Solly goes to the weigh-in
Wonderful day! I had the immense pleasure of joining my little darling at her weekly weigh-in at the local clinic. It also gave me a chance to see just how well she shapes up against the local competition. Of course, all babies are lovely and all parents are proud but when we parked our Bugaboo and walked in the clinic my darling granddaughter was a star! I even squeezed an admission from our nurse that my darling was the best baby she'd seen all year. After I released her arm from behind her back she proceeded to do the weekly weigh and we have gained 4 pounds which is top notch. Of course in 15 years she will be dieting with all her teenage chums but right now all we want is weight gain.

Back again!
I've spent so much time with the little one over the last few days that I just haven't had a moment to blog. Its amazing how she changes on a dailly basis. Her weight is zooming up and she gets cuddlier by the moment.
When I took her for some fresh air the other day I was amazed at just how aware I've become of babies and Bugaboos. I wish I had some shares in Bugaboo their logo is all pervasive. I have also become aware of how some restuarants and coffee chains are more welcoming to tiny babies than others. So far we give a 'Solly star of excellence' to the La Strada chain of Italian restaurants they couldnt be sweeter and I've noticed how good they are with toddlers. My first month of 'zaydehood' has been wonderful, better than even I expected.

Granddaughter away so sad Zayde
My little darling has gone travelling for a week - delighting the other set of grandparents. Well, Solly you have to learn to share, it's all too easy to believe that the genetic input is one-sided. Actually I see quite a lot of the goy boyfriend in my darling granddaughter but maybe the fine Cohen nose will grow in time;-)
I was taking coffee at a local hotel this morning and there was a lovely group of mummies and newborns, I asked them if they were an open mums group (thought it would be fun for my daughter) and they said they were a group from NCT (National childbirth trust) - I'll pass the info on. They looked like they were all having fun .

What a lovely day!
Spent half the day cuddling and enjoying the little darling. She is getting chubbier which makes us all happy. All these baby stuff is coming back to me now - its a bit like riding a bike its something that stays with you. My daughter of course has all the same worries her mother had all those years ago and however much you try to reassure they have to work it through themselves. The baby looks very healthy so I guess we are very lucky. Her goy dad has murmured that he would enjoy her having Jewish traditions in her life, I'm very happy about that and I'm glad it came from him.

Noting to do with my granddaughter..
Just want to publicly say how happy I am that my wonderful Tottenham Hotspur beat Inter Milan yesterday. I hope my darling angel will grow up a Spurs supporter then I can take her to 'The Lane' from time to time. You don't have to be Jewish to support Spurs but it does help!
New month, the blog continues..
Got distracted on other stuff for a couple of days and I will catch up on my serious blogging tomorrow - I will be seeng the little darling in the morning and I have a lovely soft toiy that I picked up in the airport the other week. She is travelling in a day or so to visit the other grandaprents and I want her to have a nice comfort toy whilst she is away from base for the first time. I'll report on how that goes.
